Disney picks Kim Chiu as Mulan

MANILA -- ABS-CBN star Kim Chiu has been selected to take part in a Disney project featuring its popular Princess characters, the company has confirmed.

In a statement, The Walt Disney Company said: "We confirm that Kim Chiu is part of an upcoming Disney project in Southeast Asia. We will share more details on this in the coming months."

Rumors of Chiu's part in the project, a 2015 calendar featuring Disney characters, circulated online late last month when photos of the actress as Mulan from the 1998 animated film surfaced.

Speaking with ABS-CBN News, Chiu confirmed that she indeed suited up as the Disney Princess -- both in her popular pink hanfu, and her Chinese army gear which she used as disguise.

"Achievement ko siya sa buhay, childhood dream ko maging isa sa mga Disney Princess!" Chiu said. "Nung in-offer sa akin, nakakatuwa na nakakaiyak. 'Totoo ba na gagawin niyo akong Mulan?'"

Chiu added: "Sobra akong saya and overwhelmed 'yung puso ko dahil isa ako sa pinili nilang gumanap ng Mulan and excited ako maipakita ko 'to sa lahat for next year."

No further details about the calendar, including which other Disney characters will be featured, have been announced.

Chiu, 24, currently top-bills the primetime series "Ikaw Lamang" and will star alongside Xian Lim and Ai Ai delas Alas in the romantic-comedy movie "Past Tense." -- with a report from Gretchen Fullido, ABS-CBN News

NAIA still among world’s worst

With its poor facilities, long queues and “impolite” staff and officials, the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) was again ranked as one of the world’s 10 worst airports.

An ANC report said the ranking was made by US website The Cheat Sheet, which held that the airport – designed for six million passengers – is unsurprisingly unable to accommodate more than 32 million people who use its facilities every year.

“This Manila-based airport struggles with the 32 million passengers who use its facility each year. That shouldn’t come as a shock, though, considering it only has the capacity for six million passengers, according to CNBC,” it said.

Travelers have complained of discourteous airport staff despite the Filipinos’ being known for their hospitality.

But The Cheat Sheet said ongoing upgrades and renovations at the NAIA provide the “good news.”

NAIA earned the notoriety of being one of the worst airports in the world in 2013 based on a survey by travel website Sleeping In Airports. The website asked travelers to rank airports based on comfort, conveniences, cleanliness and customer service.

The government earlier said it hopes to complete the NAIA upgrade in April next year and appealed to the public for understanding while renovation is in progress.

The Cheat Sheet’s list also includes Charles De Gaulle in Paris, Los Angeles International Airport, Italy’s Bergamo Orio al Serio Airport, New York’s LaGuardia Airport, Zurich International in Switzerland, Chad’s N’Djamena International Airport, Russia’s Moscow Sheremetyevo Airport, Bill and Hillary Clinton National Airport in Arkansas, and India’s Calcutta Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose International Airport.

Entertainment: 'I'll surprise you' said Selena Gomez

The Disney star Selena Gomez has "a few surprises coming up" for her fans.  The 22-year-old made her transition from TV into music and film with ease and is currently promoting her latest movie, Rudderless. The role sees Selena starting to move away from her career beginnings as a Disney star, which is all part of her plan.

"Lately, I've been begging people to just take an audition with me," she told Entertainment Tonight before hinting that her requests have paid off. "I've got a few surprises coming up. Within the next two months I think people will be seeing some stuff that I've been working on the past year."

Rudderless is actor William H. Macy's directorial debut and focuses on a dad who builds up the courage to perform his dead son's music in a bid to feel closer to him.

Selena explained that it was the quality of the script and the actors she got to work with that drew her to the production.

"[The script] is extremely touching. It's amazing," she said. "And I want to be part of a cast that I can learn from. I think that’s important for me."

In the film, Selena plays Kate, the ex-girlfriend of the deceased son, whose life has been turned upside down by tragedy. She stars alongside Felicity Huffman, Laurence Fishburne and Billy Crudup.

On the red carpet of the film's premiere in Los Angeles last night The Come & Get It singer also revealed that a relocation could be one of her 'surprises', particularly as a close friend is encouraging her to make a move.

"I'd love to spend time in New York, I've always said that I want to have a love affair and live there," she told E! News. "Taylor [Swift] has been begging me to live there. She's like, 'It's the best decision I've ever made.' Everyone always says I'm more New York when they meet me so maybe it would be good for me. I don't spend enough time there."

According to the Oscar winner, Jennifer Lawrence in an exclusive interview with Vanity Fair in its November issue "The people who chose to look at nude celebrity photos that hackers posted committed "a sexual offense,".

The actress, who was one of dozens celebrities whose photos were posted beginning on Aug. 31, attacked both the hackers and those who sought out the photos in the interview, which marked the first time she had publicly commented.

"It is not a scandal. It is a sex crime," she said about the hackers. "It is a sexual violation. It's disgusting. The law needs to be changed, and we need to change."

Of those who looked at the photos, she said, a"Anybody who looked at those pictures, you're perpetuating a sexual offense. You should cower with shame."

The 24-year-old said the photos were taken for her boyfriend of four years, actor Nicholas Hoult, adding that the hardest phone call she had to make was to her father, telling him that the photos were stolen and posted on the Web.

She said she considered writing a statement, but each time would "cry or get angry."

Apple acknowledged computer hackers targeted and then broke into the accounts of Lawrence and several other stars whose revealing photos were posted on sites like Imgur.com, Reddit and Twitter, among others, during the Labor Day weekend; the FBI previously confirmed it was investigating.

Earlier this month, Apple announced plans to tighten its online security and also urged users to use stronger passwords and enable a two-step authentication feature to prevent data thefts.

Security Guard Video Leaked Online having an intimate moment

A video featuring a security guard in full uniform and having an intimate moment with a woman, in an obviously part of a public building, has gone viral.

Jozh Reyes uploaded the one-minute-and-10-seconds video via his Facebook account and captioned it with “SM Security Guard.” No other information was given like when and where exactly the video was taken. It also unclear if he was the one who took the video.

The video, which was uploaded last October 4, 2014, easily circulated around the internet. The comments piled up, but there are some who noted that what Reyes did can cause serious damage to SM Security stating the fact that the guard featured in the video was not actually from SM.

One even posted a picture of an SM security guard saying “this guard (in the video) is NOT SM SECURITY. Photo posted is SM Prescribed Uniform. False and very damaging yung post mo. Sana makasuhan ka.”

Maybe threatened with the people’s reaction, Reyes removed the video and deactivated his Facebook account. However, the screen shots of the video have gone so far.

The Daily Pedia added that Reyes might also be facing the following civil and criminal liabilities:

1. Republic Act No. 9995 or the Anti-Photo and Video Voyeurism Act of 2009

Taking a photo or video coverage of a person or group of persons performing sexual act. It includes capturing an image of a person’s private parts.

Reproduction, copying, selling, or distribution of the photo or video of sexual act.

Publishing, broadcasting, showing or exhibiting the photo or video of sexual act.

2. Revised Penal Code, Article 353

It is a “public and malicious imputation of a crime, or of a vice or defect, real or imaginary, or any act, omission, condition, status, or circumstance tending to cause the dishonor, discredit, or contempt of a natural or juridical person..”

3. Revised Penal Code, Article 355

A libel committed by means of writing, printing, lithography, engraving, radio, phonograph, painting, theatrical exhibition, cinematographic exhibition, or any similar means, punishable by prision correccional in its minimum and medium periods or a fine ranging from 200 to 6,000 pesos, or both, in addition to the civil action which may be brought by the offended party
