Nargelene de Guia Mendez went to Abha City in Saudi Arabia for hopes of giving her family a shot for a better life. Unfortunately, her employer gave her a nightmare.
Mendez, a native of Pinamalayan, Oriental Mindoro, endured emotional, physical and psychological pain in the hands of her employer, who is a retired police officer. She said she was beaten up, locked inside a room along with four more Filipina and ordered to sleep inside a cabinet.
When her sibling in the Philippines found about her condition, she created a Facebook fan page that will seek help. The Facebook video that she uploaded instantly went viral and reach half a million shares in just a few days.
Because of the shares, the video reached Philippine authorities in KSA. The information was also verified when Mendez siblings also contacted the consulate.
The Consulate, which was located in Jeddah, traveled 10 hours to Abha on October 29 to rescue Mendez. However, they failed to get her, but they went back the day after and got her back after they threatened her employer of informing higher authorities about the abuse.
Hazel Mendoza, an official at the Assistance to Nationals Section Officer said Ms. Mendez is now happy.
"At least masaya na siya. Tumatawa na kanina. Pagkakita sa akin umiyak at nangangatog siya sabi niya 'Ma'am, huwag mo akong iiwan," Mendoza said.
Mendez thanked the consulate in Jeddah and the Filipinos who helped her.
"Nagpapasalamat po ako sa konsulado ng Jeddah, sa walang-sawang at tigil ng dalawang araw para makuha ako sa amo ko, ganun din sa kababayan ko, okay na ako," she said.
However, according to her Facebook post she was the only helper saved from the maltreating hands of her employer. The other three remained.

Pinay Worker in Saudi Wanted for Posting pictures which are prohibited in the Sharia Law
Authorities in Saudi are reportedly looking for a female Overseas Filipino Worker (OFW) who posted sexy photos on a Facebook page.
A screenshot of the letter dated October 15, 2014 from the Ministry of Interior to the Committee for the Command of Virtue and the Prevention of Vice, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, was shared by a certain Daisy Quezon San Miguel.
The letter above reads:
Dear Sir,
Please investigate the following facebook group including their admins which majority of them are here employed in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. I observed that they are posting topics and pictures which are prohibited in the Sharia Law of the kingdom. I have screenshot and saved the pictures of the members specially the admins of these groups since they are tolerating this one happening inside the kingdom. Attached are 7 pages of the screenshot pictures as evidence.
1. SAUDI ARABIA in ang mga PASAWAY (hunk AND sexy filipinos)
2. meet pinay pinoy in saudi arabia
Apparently, the accounts of the aforementioned Facebook groups have been deactivated.
In her status message, San Miguel said Saudi's Ministry of Interior already warned OFWs against posting obscene photos and videos online.
San Miguel urged fellow OFWs in Saudi to refrain from posting lewd images on Facebook.
Meanwhile, one of coolbuster tipsters said that the woman identified as alias “Pretty Charmz.” Her Facebook account indicates that she’s a “cook/servant” who comes from Zamboanga City, Philippines.
As of now our team (philippinenewsngayon.blogspot.com) are waiting for the confirmation from the Ministry of Interior to the Committee for the Command of Virtue and the Prevention of Vice, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, if this Viral letter is true. e will update this post if the Ministry of Interior will reply.
