No bad blood between Kathryn Bernardo and Julia Barretto

The teen stars Julia Barretto and Kathryn Bernardo remain on good terms, according to the "She's Dating The Gangster" star, Despite their respective fans clashing.

During the press conference launching as the first celebrity endorser of Nails by Chic Centre on Tuesday, Bernardo was asked about her relationship with Barretto on the sidelines.

Barretto, 17, has been compared to Bernardo since she earned her big break via the primetime series "Mirabella," which she top-billed. Dubbed local showbiz's "Teen Queen," Bernardo, 18, is arguably the most successful actress among her contemporaries.

The two ABS-CBN stars have been tapped to do joint endorsements, fueling comparisons. Recently, Barretto was paired with Bernardo's onscreen partner Daniel Padilla as ambassadors of a soda brand -- a project that did not sit well with some fans of the Bernardo.

However, according to Bernardo, she and Barretto got close during the times they worked with each other. In July, the two, along with fellow Kapamilya stars Maja Salvador and Erich Gonzales, traveled to South Africa for a fashion magazine shoot.

"Actually before kami nag-South Africa, pumunta kami sa tour namin sa London. Doon, nagka-bonding kami," said Bernardo, referring to a trip for a show for Filipinos in the United Kingdom.

Several other ABS-CBN stars, including Padilla and Barretto's "Mirabella" leading man Enrique Gil, joined the concert.

"Pumunta kami ng theme park, whole day," Bernardo said of their brief stay in London. "Medyo bitin 'yun, so kami ni Julia, nag-bond kami rin sa South Africa with the giraffes, ganyan!"

Asked what she has discovered about Barretto as a friend, Bernardo said: "Si Julia, hyper and very energetic! Pag kasama mo siya, parati siyang... Hindi ka talaga ma-bo-bore kasi very active and energetic, ganyan!"

When their respective schedules permit, Bernardo said she and Barretto have agreed to arrange a move night with some of their peers.
