No more seductress movies for Cristine Reyes

The 24-year-old actress is hoping that her upcoming film "Trophy Wife," wherein she portrays a scheming seductress, will be her last sexy role on the big screen.

In a live interview on "Aquino & Abunda Tonight" on Thursday, Reyes said she wants to move to the "next chapter" of her acting career.

She denied that the decision has anything to do with an athlete she is currently dating.

"Siguro, for me, gusto ko lang ma-lessen... [Gusto ko] mag-focus na muna sa acting, drama," she said. "Not really looking forward to doing more sexy films and stuff. Siyempre, 'di ba, I don't know... Mag-move on naman tayo sa next chapter of my career."

When host Kris Aquino noted that viewers might see the pronouncement as a "gimmick," supposedly to boost interest in "Trophy Wife," Reyes answered: "Hindi naman ako ma-gimik na tao, eh."

Reyes made a successful showbiz entry in 2003 when she became a finalist in a reality talent search. She was later cast in numerous sexy roles in films and television -- among them "Eva Fonda" in 2008 and "When the Love is Gone" in 2013.

She recently ranked 5th on the list of the "100 Sexiest Women" in the Philippines, as voted by readers of men's magazine FHM. Over 13 million votes were counted, according to the publication.

Now that she is dating someone who is not from showbiz, Reyes said she is cautious about exposing him to certain projects of hers that he "may not understand."

This is the reason why Reyes does not plan on bringing her date to the premiere night of "Trophy Wife" on July 29, or to any screenings of the film, for that matter.
